I’m an academic philosopher working at the intersections of philosophy of mind and cognition, social epistemology, philosophy of emotion, and social ontology.

My research examines how cognitive, epistemic, and affective processes are shaped by social interactions, norms, and practices. A central strand of my work concerns social cognition and the role of scripts in understanding others. I develop this account in my monograph Scripts and Social Cognition: How We Interact with Others (Routledge, 2025).

My current research focuses on the social and normative dimensions of emotion, including emotional injustice and the affective structuring of gender. I am particularly interested in how social categories and shared expectations shape emotional experience, how we understand ourselves and others, and how emotions can become sites of social and epistemic injustice. My recent work brings emotion theory into conversation with trans philosophy and gender theory and examines trans and masculine affect as sites for understanding the social structuring of emotion.

I am currently based at the Institute of Cognitive Science at Osnabrück University, where I am working on my habilitation in Philosophy. In the winter semester 2026/27, I am Interim Professor of Philosophy of Cognition at Technische Universität Berlin. Together with Imke von Maur, I lead the DFG-funded Scientific Network Critical Emotion Theory (2026–2028).
